Initial plans to revive equities market may treat the symptoms but fall short of a cure: industry observers

Following the first announcement of the new Equity Market Development Programme, Executive Director of Investments Joe Lin shared his views on the S$5 billion investment initiative with The Business Times.

“A one-time liquidity boost from the MAS fund may not have the same long-term impact as a sustained commitment from GIC or other institutional investors,” he said.
